READ READ READ!

  • Always find time to read with your child.

  • Books that they want to read!

  • Make reading a thing of enjoyment, that holds positive memories.

  • Read in your home language (spanish, french, german, english, etc.)

  • Point out text wherever you go.

    • signs, advertisements, logos, grocery lists, etc. Words and symbols hold meaning.

PRACTICE YOUR SIGHT WORDS USING THE FLASH CARDS I SEND HOME EACH WEEK.

PRACTICE RHYMING

  • Children who struggle with reading often struggle with rhyming words

  • play rhyming games

    • "Can you find three words that rhyme with ___?"

    • " Which word out of these three does not rhyme? Cat, Bat, Dog"
